Rafi Law Firm lawyers Mike Rafi and Arthur York were selected as 2019 Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Stars. This is Mike’s 4th consecutive year being selected and Arthur’s 3rd consecutive year. The Rising Stars list recognizes no more than 2.5% of attorneys from all of Georgia. Mike, Arthur, and the rest of the Rafi Law Firm team have been very busy.
Mike and Arthur recently worked together to settle a medical malpractice case where a surgeon mistakenly performed a procedure. We filed suit, exchanged information during the discovery process, and resolved the case at a mediation for $800,000.00.
Mike and Chris Stokes recently settled the first part of a multi-vehicle crash. In that case, our Client was hit by a semi-truck that drifted into her lane, but thankfully, the crash was relatively minor. After that crash, a police officer arrived and was speaking to our Client and the truck driver; everything was generally okay… until a passenger car came upon the crash but could not stop or avoid it. The passenger car hit our Client, who was standing on the side of the road. As you can imagine, our Client suffered severe injuries. So far, we have recovered $500,000.00 from the passenger car crash and expect to recover significantly more money from the truck, which caused the initial crash and put our client in a position to be injured by the second vehicle.
Arthur is working on a case against Walmart, where our Client was significantly injured in a fall. Litigating against one of the biggest companies in the world is difficult, but Arthur is up to the task. Through written discovery, witness work, and depositions, we have significantly improved the value of the case since another lawyer referred it to us. Arthur is also preparing for a car crash trial, where our Client has more than a quarter million dollars in medical bills.
