An accident that occurred on September 12, 2017 in Cobb County is being blamed on weather. Police believe that the four-car crash which claimed the lives of a woman and an infant was caused by slick road conditions.
According to reports, the accident happened on Windy Hill Road in the 900 block. A driver lost control of their vehicle just before 5:30 p.m. and crossed over a median. The car ran into the path of a pickup truck heading in the opposite direction. An SUV hit the rear end of the pickup truck and then crashed into another vehicle.
The driver of the first vehicle was the person discovered deceased at the scene. Also killed was the driver’s 1-year-old child. Two children who were in the vehicle were transported to local hospitals. One of those children was in serious condition and the other was being held for observation.
No one else was injured in the crash but a passenger in the pickup truck. That person had non-life threatening injuries. No charges are expected to be filed as a result of the crash as those involved may not have been able to avoid it.
